  • Canogel

    EDTA Lubricant for Root Canal

    Product Description
Canogel contains 17% EDTA with 10% carbamide peroxide in water-soluble gel base for use in chemical and mechanical cleansing of root canal preparation. It lubricates the root canal and chelates the calcium salts to facilitate endodontic instrument penetrations. Due its effervescent action with sodium hypochlorite solution, cleaning of root canal becomes very easy. The use of sodium hypochlorite with the gel promotes internal bleaching of the tooth. This process is enhanced by the release of oxygen from carbamide peroxide.

    Application:
For chemical & mechanical preparation of root canals.
Cleansing and enlarging of calcified root canals.

    Composition:
17% EDTA, 10% carbamide peroxide, purified water, thickening agent and excipients.

    Method of Use:

    1. Either apply this gel at the canal opening with a pellet, or coat the instrument to be used with the gel for lubrication.
    2. Fill and ream canal by the conventional method and irrigate with 3% sodium hypochlorite solution to remove the debris from the canal.
    3. Rinse the canal with water to remove the EDTA Gel.
    4. Dry the canal with absorbent paper points before filling.

    Warning:

    • Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin (allergic contact dermatitis), and eye.
    • Avoid prolonged inhalation.
    • Do not take internally as contact with the skin may cause irritation and burns of hypersensitivity. If the gel comes in contact with skin, thoroughly wipe off with cotton and alcohol immediately and wash well with soap and water. If skin rash, sensitization or other allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and seek medical attention.
    • If the product comes in contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and consult a physician.
    • The product should not be used with patients who have a history of severe allergic reaction to any of the components.

    Precautions:
Avoid injecting solution beyond apex of canal.

    Storage & Shelf Life:

  • Clinsodent Powder

    Composition:

    Active ingredients:
    Potassium persulphate, Sodium perborate

    Inactive ingredients:
Sodium carbonate, Sodium sulphate, Trisodium phosphate, Sulphamic acid, Tetra Potassium Pyro Phosphate, EDTA, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Peppermint powder etc.

    Purpose of individual ingredients:

    The peroxygen compounds:
The per oxygen compounds like potassium persulfate, sodium perborate monohydrate and sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate are those which yield active oxygen on admixture with water.

    Alkalinity imparter:
Particularly suitable materials to provide the alkalinity of the composition are trisodium phosphate (a compound which in dilute aqueous solution, e.g. at 0.1-1% concentration, has a pH of 11.5-11.9)or sodium carbonate (whose dilute aqueous solutions have a pH which is generally above 11)

    Sequestering agents:
Sequestering agents are added to maintain clarity and to promote calculus removal. Preferred sequestering agents include ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (“EDTA”). The EDTA may be present in amounts of above 1% to 25% by weight of the composition, preferably about 17% to about 23% by weight of the composition, and most preferably about 19% to 21% by weight of the composition. EDTA also plays a role as an anti-bacterial component.

    Surfactant:
The Clinsodent powder also contains anionic surfactant, having a long hydrophobic alkyl chain (e.g. of about 8-20 carbon atoms) attached to a hydrophilic ionic portion such as sulphate or sultanate radical (e.g., sodium laurel sulcate) in amount sufficient to promote foaming.

    Dilute Acid:
Dilute acids like Sulphamic acids are used for better cleansing action.

    Plaque remover:
Tetra Potassium Pyro Phosphate plays a key role in removal of plaque.

    Enzymatic action:
Clinosdent contains Everlase as a protelytic enzyme. The enzyme functions through the digestion of the human mucoprotein component of deposits.

    Direction of use:
Take a teaspoonful of Clinsodent in a suitable container, filled with water, leave the denture overnight. Rinse and brush the denture with sufficient water before use.

    NOT TO BE TAKEN INTERNALLY

So efficient cleaning of dorsal surface of tongue is critical in eliminating halitosis. Glosso is special brush with a specific shape, size & soft bristles – all designed for an effective tongue cleaning without causing any harm to tongue surface

    2. Halyx Ultra (300 ml)

    3. Wet Mouth (200 ml): Artificial Saliva Substitutes

Xerostomia or dry mouth is a leading cause for halitosis. Wet Mouth is a salivary substitute, each 5 ml of which contains: Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose 0.5% w/v, Glycerin 30% w/v, in a presently flavored based. Saliva substitutes aid in keeping the oral mucosa moist and lubricated by hydration. When used regularly, they help to comfortable perform their daily activities like eating, speaking, and sleeping. GUM CARE SPECIALIST

    Composition:
Chlorhexidine gluconate solution I.P. diluted to chlorhexidine gluconate 0.2% w/v in a pleasantly flavoured base.

    Mode of action:
Bacterial plaque produces irritants, which cause gingivitis and periodontitis, ultimately leading to loss of teeth. Chemical control of plaque is achieved effectively with Hexidine. As an antimicrobial, Hexidine prevents secondary infections arising out of poor oral hygiene. It is particularly useful in plaque control for:

    • Bed-ridden patients following surgery or in the ICU.
    • Respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, post-tonsillectomy surgery, preventing complications of pregnancy gingivitis and bacterial endocarditis.
    • Preventing dental caries.

Hexidine begins its microbicidal effect in 15 seconds after contact and its bacteriostatic action lasts for 12 hours.

    Indications:

    1. Prevention of plaque in absence of brushing.
    2. Prevention and treatment of gingivitis.
    3. Treatment of oral candidiasis, controlling secondary bacterial infections for aphthous ulcers.
    4. Aids in treatment of mouth and throat infections.

    Directions for use:
For treatment and prevention, swish in the mouth for one minute. Do not rinse your mouth, eat, drink thereafter for 20 minutes.

For prolonged use, take 1:1 dilution of Hexidine with plain water. Recommended only under professional guidance.

    Dose:
    10 ml, twice a day.

    Caution:
Not to be swallowed. For oral use only. Brown staining of the teeth may be reported, while using the product in some cases. This usually disappears once the treatment is over, or may require scaling/polishing.

    Special instructions:
Do not use toothpastes immediately after rinsing with Hexidine, as it will diminish its effect. Use them first or at a different time of the day, and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before using Hexidine. Avoid tannin-containing food and drinks for at least one hour after using Hexidine. If symptoms persist, stop using, and consult your dentist. Noticeable change in taste, or burning sensation may occur in exceptional cases upon first use. This usually goes away as you continue to use the product.
