Faster vaccines likely if Moderna effort succeeds
20th May 2020: Moderna’s experimental vaccine against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has emerged the front-runner in the global effort to stop the pandemic after an early trial showed it produced virus-neutralising antibodies similar to those found in recovered patients.

Covid-19: India reports 0.2 deaths per lakh, global average is 4.1
20th May 2020: Even as Covid-19 cases in India exceeded one lakh, deaths from the infection are much lower than the global average if population density is taken into account. India has about 0.2 deaths per lakh population compared to around 4.1 deaths per lakh population for the world.
14th May 2020: A test to find out whether people have been infected with coronavirus in the past has been approved by health officials in England. Public Health England said the antibody test, developed by Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche, was a “very positive development”. The blood test looks for antibodies to see if a person has already had the virus and might now have some immunity.
This Vadodara-based startup has manufactured over 70,000 PPE kits
15th May 2020: As all countries including India continue their fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the PPE has been witnessing an ever increasing demand.
However, a Vadodara-based startup “Sure Safety” is working towards solving the PPE availability problem in a big way. Sure Safety, which is an E-commerce start-up is among the first few companies engaged by the government of India to manufacture PPE kits to fight coronavirus.
