Even if a #COVID19 patient is totally asymptomatic, his cough usually sounds slightly different from a healthy person’s cough because #SARSCoV2 affects patients’ lungs & vocal cords.
Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) used artificial intelligence #AI to design an algorithm that listens to detect these subtle differences, which are usually inaudible to the human ear.
This AI model correctly identifies #COVID19 patients 98.5% of the time, and it is accurate 100% of the time even in asymptomatic patients.
